White Water Rafting
The one-day low water trip is considered to be the best one-day white water experience available in the world. If you don't immediately associate the terms "Stairway to Heaven" and "Oblivion" with adventure then you haven't experienced Zambezi Whitewater! “White Water Rafting on the Zambezi River in Victoria Falls has been classified by the British Canoe Union as Grade 5 - "extremely difficult, long and violent rapids, steep gradients, big drops and pressure areas". This is a high volume, pool-drop river with little exposed rock either in the rapids or in the pools below the rapids.” “Considered one of the best stretches of commercially run river in the world, Batoka Gorge provides one of the most intense sensory thrills imaginable. Its twenty three whitewater rapids and striking scenery deep within the sheer black cliffs afford the adrenaline junkie a wild roller coaster ride along a route carved over millennia by the Great Zambezi.” River conditions are determined by seasonally predictable fluctuations in water levels. As a guide, low water season runs from August to January each year when the Zambezi is at its very wildest. High water season runs from about February to July. There may be a short "closed season" around April/May depending on the season's rains. .The rapids are run in large rubber rafts, launched from just below the Falls. You can do a half day trip, full day or two day Age restriction of over 15 yrs applies
