Lake Bwangweulu
“Bangweulu” in the local language means ‘where the water meets the sky’. This famous lake is one of the world’s great wetland systems. It is made up of Lake Bangweulu, the Bangweuly Swamps and the Bangweulu Flats. Seventeen rivers make up the Bangweulu system. Chambeshi River, the source of the Congo River, is the largest of the seventeen rivers and is drained by the Luapula River.
